GOYA

The Greek Orthodox Youth of Australia, or otherwise known to many as GOYA, is a national youth program operated by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. Although its main activities within Greek communities on a national scale include fellowship, service, and social activities, the group and its program ultimately reflect the Orthodox Christian Faith and its relevant traditions.

Although the mission and primary goal of the GOYA Brisbane branch is to lead the youth of the Brisbane Greek community to experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith, the organisation places a big focus on getting it’s members involved with community focused fund raising activities, and staying connected to their heritage via meeting members of the Greek community that reside in Brisbane and South East Queensland.

While George Samios and his team at Madd Loans have worked tirelessly over the years to make mortgages fun, he also pays homage to his roots and regularly fundraises for GOYA as a means to thank the Brisbane Greek community for the unwavering support that they’ve showed him over the years. So much so, that Madd Loans is a proud sponsor of GOYA, and assists in other fundraising efforts such as GOYA Greek Nights, the Annual GOYA Touch Football Competition, and the annual Paniyiri Greek Festival.

In the last decade alone, fundraising efforts linked to the work at GOYA made significant contributions to Nicholas Nursing Home, the Greek Orthodox Church of St George, the Greek Ethnic School of Saint George, Olympic Soccer United Football Club and the GOC Care and Welfare Department. With the end goal being to provide ongoing support to a wide range of community services and facilities, George and the team at Madd Loans are nothing but proud to be involved in supporting Brisbane’s Greek community.
