This month we were lucky enough to catch up with Nick Morini. Nick came to Madd around three years ago and his life has been different ever since. Read Nick’s story below to better understand what brought him to us, what’s kept him here and why our mortgage brokerage stood out from other brokers.
Nick’s Story
“It all started when I reached out to George & Madd Loans to do a refinance. I not only was looking for a refi, but I actually was also looking for advice and I knew George was an expert in this area so knew he could help me. I wanted his opinion on which lender would maximise my borrowing capacity so that I could leverage the equity in my property to continue to add more investments to my property portfolio. Before meeting with George, I had gone to my original mortgage broker and was told that unless I provided two years of my new financials, banks would not look at further borrowing.”
After Meeting George
“After I met with George, I was able to not only walk out with a better interest rate on my existing property, but he managed to get me a pre-approval for two more investment properties. I immediately went to the market and sourced two additional properties, one in Camp Hill and then a development site in Holland Park West. I often look back and wonder at the opportunity cost lost if I had taken my original broker’s word for it and had settled with waiting two extra years before buying an additional property. I am so glad I contacted George to see if there were in fact other options and I’m thankful I did that because with the help of madd loans I was able to accelerate into the next step of my property portfolio strategy.”

The Learning / Advice
1. You need to make a goal and build a strategy around that goal
2. Never give up, you must be persistent, and build the right team around you.
3. If you get a roadblock like my original mortgage broker, keep asking questions you might need to find another broker, imagine if I let the original broker stop me, I could have missed out on over $300,000 equity I’ve realised from those purchases.
4. Be selective, and only buy property in good areas which have a proven history of capital growth
